Bespoke American Craftmanship

More than any other custom builder in the country, IndyFab is known for tailoring their bikes to their customer’s specific needs and desires.  In a sense, the builders at IF are bespoke craftsmen first, using rigorous drafting and design processes to turn your ideas about how your bike should ride and look into reality.

We work with you and IndyFab to select specific materials based on your size, riding characteristics, cycling goals, and personal tastes.  From tubing diameter and wall thickness, to profile and butting selection as well as custom-tailored geometry, you’ll receive a bike hand-tailored to your body that rides the way you want it to ride, the way you deserve it to ride.

Independent Fabrication was formed by some of the best builders from seminal New England bike brand Fat City Cycles after its sale in 1994.  The founders’ primary goal was to design and build bikes based on their own uncompromising quality standards instead of being forced to meet investor demands like price-point, margin, etc.  Nearly 17 years later, this founding principle remains core to the IF philosophy, as does a steadfast dedication to improvement of their Steel, Carbon, and Titanium fabrication processes year-after-year.

This tradition of innovation has led to multiple “Dream Bike of the Year” awards from Bicycling magazine as well as a number of best-in-category prizes at the prestigious North American Handmade Bicycle Show, feats unmatched by all but a very select few of their peers.
