Giro in Feb
This is about the time where cabin fever starts to set in. Roadies are sick and tired of the snow and riding the trainer. With seemingly no end in sight, the Glass Shop café and friends are putting on a screening of the 2010 Giro D’italia Stage 7 on Friday, February 4th. It goes down at 7pm at the Glass Shop in Brooklyn, located at 766 Classon Ave. Beer will be provided by the clown-faced Coney Island Craft Lagers, and music will be laid down by none other than DJ Clever.
If you want a bit of road racing escapism during the frosty prison sentence that’s known as “winter,” then stop by and enjoy the party with your like-minded cycling cohorts.
beerNo Laboring on Labor day (go ride your bike!)
Three-day weekends are the frosting on the cake of life. Taking Monday off makes everything better. Couple that with great weather, BBQing, bikes, and (of course) beer, and you’re all set.
The shop will be closed on Labor Day so that we can all go drink,bike,eat, and relax alongside the rest of you. The shop will be open on Saturday and Sunday for normal hours and we will return on Tuesday.

beerBOTW – House of Geeks
NYC is getting to know geekhouse; built by Marty Walsh in Boston, the brand is kicking butt in the cyclocross circuit (they are hard to miss given their Pee-Wee Herman-esque color schemes), and their singlespeeds have always stood out with their unique seatpost design.
Geekhouse will be coming to NYC Velo in the very near future, but in the meantime check out this one that our friend Jacob brought by the other day.
