Winter Speciale: NYC Velo Wool Jerseys on SALE

This week’s Speciale features two custom made NYC Velo Classic Wool Jerseys, fresh off the looms. Inspired by the true hardmen of cycling, when a racer carried his own water and didn’t wait for an attack signal from a radio, ’cause he attacked when he damn well pleased.

Like the jersey introduced last fall from Cima Coppi, the new jersey design is a long sleeve merino wool model with red “flocked” lettering on the front.  These new jerseys are made by Woolistic in Switzerland, have a 1/4 zip on the front and 3 rear pockets.

The new version, the ‘Gruppo Sportivo Ciclistico’ or ‘Cycling Sports Group’ jersey, is a head nod to the famed Italian cycling clubs which nurtured so many legends.

Until March 31st (of this year) either jersey (either in-person or on our webstore) is specially priced at $160 (a savings of $30). The sale is limited to stock on hand.

It’s wintertime in the city, which means (to cyclists) a great time to re-up on gear at prices that aren’t seen “in-season”.  The first item in our Winter SPECIALE series are the 2012 Fi’zi:k R1 and R3 shoe models (including the “Donna” women’s model).  All of NYC Velo’s stock (once they’re gone, they’re gone & all sales final) of these shoes are 40% off, pricing that includes (for the R1 at least) custom molding the SIDAS insole to the foot of the rider.

Bike Of The Week: Independent Fabrication (Rapha) SSX

Two weeks, two cyclocross bikes from Independent Fabrication….it must mean something (fall’s right around the corner!).  Like the last Indy Fab featured, this bike is for sale.  The BOTW is a stainless steel cyclocross frame, the SSX, constructed of Reynolds 953 tubes and painted up in the Rapha Racing colours.  The frame has 6 Northeast CX races on it, and much of the Sram Force component package is brand new, having been serviced by the Intergalactic Mechanic Crew at NYC Velo immediately prior to being offered for sale.  The price for a this marriage of New England bike building prowess and British charm is a scant $3500.

Bike Storage + Discounted Tune-up = Happy Bike

Need a little extra room around the apartment for visiting family members or gift stashin’ this holiday season? This is New York City – everyone needs more space! From December 1st, 2011 through March 31st, 2012, NYC Velo is offering secured and insured monthly bike storage! Like all things NYC, space is limited!

• Stored Bikes are accessible during store hours (11-8 weekdays and 11-6 weekends, Excluding Holidays)

The NYC Velo Service Department has offered to sweeten the deal and extend a one time 1/2 price Deluxe Tune-up for bikes stored for 3 or more months (performed at the conclusion of the storage term)! The Deluxe Tune-up includes a full frame and drive-train clean, brake and gear adjustments, true and re-tension both wheels, and complete bicycle lubrication.

Avoid the Spring tune-up rush and have the bike cleaned, tuned, and ready for only $62.50!
